Since 2009, Dean Blackaby has provided training on MSAs and Medicare Secondary Payer compliance to attorneys and adjusters in nearly a dozen states and to attorney groups (Arizona Trial Lawyers Association), medical providers (Christus Healthcare), in-house training to insurers (Montana State Fund), third-party administrators (Montana School Groups Insurance Authority, Montana Municipal Interlocal Authority) and major law firms (Lindsay Hart - Portland, Oregon).

Mr. Blackaby was certified by the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC) to deliver training for individuals seeking to become certified Medicare set-aside consultants.  He authored original manuals for both of his training modules, Pirates at the Settlement Conference and The Medicare Set-Aside Toolbox Training. He also authored Basic Medicare Secondary Payer Act for a training website,  He was previously a member of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals (NAMSAP).

Dean has a longstanding working relationship with a nationally respected Medicare Secondary Payer vendors and can access those resources to address your issues involving Medicare set-asides, conditional payment lien reduction, rated ages, structured settlements, annuities and professional administration.

When you make a referral for a Medicare set-aside report or projection through Montana Work Comp Solutions, Dean will act as your local contact person, facilitate the referral and preparation of the report including conducting the quality assurance review.  He will meet with you to discuss the MSA cost-drivers and options.  When services are limited to securing and/or submitting the MSA, Dean's fees are paid by the vendor.  A secure client portal ensures that you always know the status of your referral.
